Reviews
This is a great little restaurant. Small and cosy feel to it but with still enough room for larger groups. The menu was great. Nice selection whilst obviously being carefully curated and each dish we had in our group of 10 or was all given lavish praise. For a three course meal it's 45 euros which in Paris for the quality is pretty good.
Wine was excellent. English version of menus too which is a nice to have. Only let down was the lack of Port as an option after the meal.
Service was excellent too. Friendly and quick.
Did not need a reservation. Friendly waitstaff, good English for travelers. Menu with English descriptions as well. One entree of chicken and gnocchi with mushrooms, this was very salty I drank 2 carafes of water. One of cod and cauliflower, good texture, fresh but sauce a bit lackluster on taste. Smaller portions, unique flavor pairings, depends if you are into new combinations. Best part was atmosphere, waitstaff, and cassava fruit dessert. Lovely presentation and artistry in the dessert.
Easily the best food we've had in Paris this trip. Even at the 1 or even 3 Michelin starred restaurants, there are occasional dishes that miss the mark as they try to be too adventurous or inventive. Picotte presents as a casual restaurant but what comes out of that kitchen is just phenomenal! The pork dish had us coming back for round 2 the next night just so we can try all the dishes. Unfortunately after all the entrees and mains, it did not leave room for dessert. I guess that means we'll have to be back in future trips!
One of our favorite dinners! The staff were so accommodating as we don’t speak French. The food was superb as was the wine. It’s a must try if you’re in Paris!
I’m very sorry to write this review, but I have to cos I’ve visited this place because of the good reviews, but unfortunately they are not true. The food is not special and not good, but even is not tasty. Some people here wrote that this place is better than Michelin restaurants, but I guess they’ve never been to one if they say that. The food is plain and there is an attempt to be high cuisine, but it is a huge failure. It’s better if the food was from one region and tasty than from different ones and with no taste. I have to say it’s hard for me to write such a hard review for a small restaurant since I know how much work it takes, but the fact that the knife and fork wasn’t changed between the dishes and was left this way on the table (see the photo), made me feel like I have to warn others before coming.
Absolutely stunning food. We had the cod and the fillet mignon. The flavours were beautiful and the dishes were cooked perfectly. We had the pumpkin pie for dessert which was nice ...but perhaps needed a bit more of a punch or distinctive flavour. The staff were super friendly and there was a nice atmosphere. All in all I would highly recommend this place.
The restaurant is nicely decorated and the service is fine. The dishes were not totally convincing - we had a crunchy (too crunchy) fried bread with mushrooms and comte cream and the tempura prawns as appetizers and the cod and pigeon as main courses. The cod was great yet the pigeon was way too hard. The dessert was fine. All in all a nice experience yet there's room for improvement :)
We dined here tonight and it was excellent. The service is very kind including indulging our desire to practice our rusty French. Not a bad dish among the five we had between us, and the wine and cider was excellent too. Sound level was moderate and the atmosphere was fun - they seem to take the food seriously but not themselves.
